Disclosure: Reading this is the bragging of a mother who loves her daughter unconditionally! So there is no law against bragging about your children, right?
The truth about Dani is this. She was sent to me and her Daddy for a reason and when I look at her I know she was heaven sent. The reason for this post is because today Dani reminded me of why I am a Mom. She did not say anything special, she did not do anything spectacular, she was just her. Dani was not a planned pregnancy, nor was the timing right. She came into our lives for a purpose. I always thought I would have children someday, but it wasn't until I had her did I really understand a mother's love. I have been thinking a lot about my brilliant seven year. The other day I told my mom that I would have been content with just her, but just as she is, she taught me to love in a way noone ever had. So because of that her sister and brother came along who I would not trade for the world, but this love had to start somewhere, with her. Dani is a wonderful child, she excels in Mathematics, French, Sign Language and just about everything she does. Dani is incredibly strong. She reminds me to be real. She is my down to earth child who will tell me how it is and not sugar coat anything. When I look at Dani I see beauty not only on the outside but within. I have not been looking forward to her growing up, but as all mothers would agree, it just happens. So as I look at my 7 year old and know that in just ten short years she will be my teenager behind the wheel, I hope to always have a strong relationship with her. I hope she knows she has a friend in me, always!
